Swiss Turners Boys Booster Club

About this group

The Swiss Turners Boys Booster Club is a non-profit organization supporting the team and local communities and promoting the love of gymnastics with athletes, family, friends, fans and the community.

We have historically had one of the strongest Boys/Mens Gymnastics programs in the nation, with many National or Olympic Champions coming from our gym, Swiss Turners Gymnastics Academy located at 2214 S. 116th St., West Allis, WI.

Our athletes come near and far to be able to get quality coaching from our Olympic and World Class Coaching staff, and join our nationally recognized gymnastics programs:

Brookfield - Brown Deer - Cottage Grove - Eagle - Fond du Lac - Franklin - Greendale - Greenfield - Hartland - Janesville - Kenosha - Madison - Milwaukee - Muskego - New Berlin - Oshkosh - Shorewood - Sussex - Trevor - Waukesha - Wauwatosa - West Allis

If you have a young son who has bounds of energy and an interest in learning how to do flips and win pull-up and push-up contests, we encourage you to enroll him at one of Swiss Turners Gymnastics Academy classes to see how he enjoys it!

Stick It Media's Exclusive Interview with Marvin Kimble

By William Van Aacken on August 22nd, 2013

If you haven't read it, go to Stick It Media's website and read the exclusive interview with our very own Marvin Kimble.  It has been a joy to watch Marvin go from a young, obscure novice to a maturing, serious contender for the 2016 Olympics.

Marvin Kimble looks to Rio

By William Van Aacken on August 22nd, 2013

… Now 17, he’s the best young male gymnast in the United States, an athlete whose ability invites comparisons to 2004 Olympic all-around gold medalist Paul Hamm.

Kimble lives in Milwaukee and trains at Swiss Turners in West Allis, where Hamm and his twin brother, Morgan, trained.

… Kimble will try to make his first senior national team this week at the 2013 U.S. Gymnastics Championships at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn.

He will compete in the junior men’s session Thursday and if he finishes in the top six he will be eligible to compete in the senior session Saturday. The 15-man senior national team will be chosen at the end of the competition. …

“That is the goal for this year,” said Andrei Kan, one of Kimble’s coaches at Swiss Turners and a 1996 Olympian for Belarus. “I see great potential for him to make the world championship team (in 2014) so it’s important for him to make the senior national team this year.

“We are trying to get prepared for the 2016 Olympics. I believe he has a good chance.” …

Swiss Turners Rock at Junior Olympic Nationals 2011

By William Van Aacken on August 22nd, 2013

It was an incredible experience to witness all of the success that Swiss Turners had this year at Nationals.  Long Beach, CA lived up to its name, and brought welcomed sunshine to us Wisconsin folks.

The Swiss Level 10 team captured 1st place in Floor, Pommel, Rings, and Parallel Bars.    Overall, they took the 2nd place Club Team in the Nation for Level 10.  An incredible achievement!

The Swiss Level 9 team performed well also, claiming 1st place in rings, and 6th place in the overall Club Team for the Nation.

Individually, many Swiss boys contributed to their teams' successes.  We had 5 boys rank in the top 36 all-around finals competition, with Marvin Kimble placing 3rd, Dmitri Belanovski placing 4th and Steven Jaciuk placing 17th, in their respective divisions.

The last day of competition was the event finals and there were Swiss boys all over the place!  Perhaps a record 6 boys qualified for the Event finals by placing in the top 6 in the event.  Considering there were over 700 total competitors, this was a significant accomplishment.

They all received medals for their competition in the event finals:

Marvin Kimble - 1st in rings, 3rd on floor and pommel, 6th on pbars and vault
Dmitri Belanovski - 1st in pbars, 4th on floor, 4th on pommel, 6th on rings
Josiah Eng - 1st in rings
Steven Jaciuk - 5th on high bar
Paul Montague - 6th on rings
Vitali Kan - 6th on floor

All of their hard work during the year paid off!   Congratulations Swiss men!

Swiss Turners' Marvin Kimble Named to Junior National Team

By William Van Aacken on August 22nd, 2013

Marvin Kimble continued to compete with excellence by taking 4th place at the 2011 USA Visa National Championships in Saint Paul, MN.  He placed 2nd on Floor, 4th on Pommel, 4th on Rings, 2nd on Vault, and 2nd on P-bars.  Even more remarkable in his first year of eligibility at the age 14-15 Junior level, his difficult routines and high marks granted him the opportunity to compete alongside the Seniors (college and elite level) on the final night of the men's competition.  Congratulations to Marvin on being named to the 2011-2012 Junior National Team!  He will be attend various training camps at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO  in preparation to represent the USA in International competitions.
